  • At Friday night Shabbat services, ushers distribute printed announcements containing Temple Isaiah’s policy: We are an inclusive community. We welcome people of all ages and abilities to worship in our sanctuary. Our community includes and warmly supports adults and children with special needs, some of whom make noise or move around more than others. The caregivers of those with special needs strive to be respectful of both their needs and the needs of those worshiping around them. Open your heart before you judge; open your mind, and we can all find ways to learn from each other. Hearing devices are available for your use. Please speak to an usher, to provide them for you.

Youth and Education Special Needs Inclusion

By acknowledging learning differences, communicating regularly with parents, helping to celebrate and develop strengths, and teaching through different modes of learning, we strive to provide all participants in our youth and education programs at Temple Isaiah with a successful experience of Jewish education and community.

We need parents’ collaboration to provide the best experience for their children at Temple Isaiah. Parents are the experts on their children and can provide us with essential information about their children’s strengths and unique needs. We see parents as our partners and strive for strong communication among parents, teachers, and our Learning Specialist.

We also take dietary restrictions and other special needs into consideration when planning any class or program.
