WOI Kickoff
Women of Isaiah would like to invite you to a stimulating evening of food, friendship and information. We are honored to have two extraordinary guests. Dr. Robert Lustig, M.D., Professor emeritus of Pediatric Endocrinology at UCSF, is a world-renowned speaker, and author of “Fat Chance & Sugar, The Bitter Truth.” We also will hear from Cindy Gershen, author of the “Fat Chance Cookbook,” mother, entrepreneur, owner of Sunrise Bistro, and educator at Mount Diablo High School. They are a dynamic duo that will change the way we look at food and medicine, one bite at a time.
NEW! Mark DeSaulnier will join us as a special guest speaker.
We will also be honoring a member of Women of Isaiah who has been an active, integral part of our community. The honoree will be announced that night. Come join us to celebrate and nurture friendships, old and new while enjoying delicious food provided by Cindy Gershen.
The Kickoff will be held in the Social Hall on August 31st from 6-9pm. Please spread the word, and bring a friend.

Who Is Your Woman of Valor?
Women of Isaiah’s biennial Woman of Valor Award is presented at the kickoff dinner. Tell us who your Woman of Valor is and why you think she is deserving of this award. Watch and Learn with Cindy Gershen
Our WOI Kickoff 2023 special guest Cindy Gershen invites people to watch and learn how she cooks nutritiously on the day of the event. Signup here for a one hour block of time starting at noon and ending at 5pm in the Oneg kitchen.
