K-2nd Grade

Photo: K-1st grade - Kadima! (Let’s go!)

Our K-2 program meets weekly and seeks to connect children with the ongoing creative life of the Jewish people through music, art, dance, stories, Hebrew, prayer, and discussion.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade

Kindergarten and 1st graders are in combined-grade classes. Families may choose to enroll in one of these two programs:

Kadimah! (Let’s go!)
In this exciting JQuest program for Kindergarten and 1st graders, students go on a Jewish “quest” to explore Jewish holidays, values, traditions, prayers, and Torah stories by using all five of their senses. Kadimah students
engage in cooking, building, art, games, outdoor activities, music, and more in order to bring Judaism to life in multiple exciting ways! Kadimah includes two required family programs per year.

Yad b’Yad (Hand in Hand): Family Education Program
Yad b’Yad is a family education program in which children and their parents go on a Jewish learning journey together as a family and become part of a community of families who learn together throughout the year. Moreover, this exciting program gives parents the opportunity to study with Temple Isaiah’s Rabbis and Cantor, thereby deepening their own Jewish knowledge. Children in Yad b’Yad attend JQuest every Sunday and engage in Jewish learning through all of their senses, including music, art, dance, building, stories, and more. Parents in Yad b’Yad join their children every other week in a familyoriented program that includes time for separate child and adult learning, as well as time for families to learn and grow together.

2nd Grade

Tzofim (Scouts)
Calling all 2nd graders! A year of scavenger hunts and adventures awaits, as Tzofim (2nd grade “scouts”) go on journeys to discover what it means to be Jewish in the world. Tzofim includes field trips, quests related to Israel, synagogues, Jewish values, and “ Junior Mitzvah Corps,” in which students learn about a mitzvah and then go out into the world to perform that mitzvah through social action and community service projects. This is a year of JQuest you don’t want to miss!
