Fund Options
See below for a comprehensive list of the funds to which you can donate. You will need to select one of these funds as you fill out our online donation form. Special gifts are acknowledged in the Ruach bulletin.
Adult Education Fund: Donors who contribute to the Adult Education Fund assist Temple Isaiah in securing speakers for adult education programming.
Alex Rudd Safety and Security Fund: In memory of Alex Rudd, a beloved and respected Temple Isaiah member who was the chair of the Safety and Security committee and who served on the board of directors, donors who contribute to the Alex Rudd Safety and Security Fund continue Alex’s efforts by funding measures to improve the safety and security of Temple Isaiah’s members, visitors, and campus.
Angel Network: Donors who contribute to the Angel Network Fund help to support Temple Isaiah congregants in times of need.
Anshei Isaiah: Donors who contribute to the Anshei Isaiah fund support the Temple Isaiah brotherhood Anshei (men of) Isaiah.
Building Fund: Donors who contribute to the Building Fund help fund expenditures to maintain and improve Temple Isaiah’s buildings and grounds. Such expenditures include those for repairs, purchases, and maintenance.
Cantor Korn’s Music Fund: Donors who contribute to Cantor Leigh Korn’s Music Fund support Cantor Korn’s work to keep the rich cultural heritage of Jewish music alive at Temple Isaiah. Examples of ways in which this fund is used include: creating musical programs; bringing artists and musicians to Temple Isaiah; sustaining our choirs and instrumental ensembles; building the collection of Jewish music in our library; and enriching musical education for youth and adults.
Cantor Ted Cotler Memorial Library Fund: Donors who contribute to the Cantor Ted Cotler Memorial Library Fund support the purchase of books, periodicals, videotapes, and other items required to maintain the high quality of library services at Temple Isaiah.
Carlene Berman Memorial Fund: Donors who contribute to the Carlene Berman Memorial Fund support the purchase of flowers for the Temple Isaiah sanctuary foyer, and plant and landscape materials to enhance the Temple Isaiah grounds.
Charles and Ellen Emold Fund: Donors who contribute to the Charles and Ellen Emold Fund support Temple Isaiah’s High Holy Days children’s program.
Community Fund: Donors who contribute to the Community Fund help Temple Isaiah remain inclusive and welcoming for Temple Isaiah members who cannot meet the sustaining commitment each year.
Daniel Baron Fund: Donors who contribute to the Daniel Baron Fund support Temple Isaiah programs that feed hungry people in the Bay Area.
Endowment Fund: Donors who contribute to the Endowment Fund help secure a sustainable future for Temple Isaiah.
Gan Ilan Preschool Fund: Donors who contribute to the preschool fund support the purchase of non-budgeted items, subsidize new programs and professional development, and provide additional student aid at the discretion of the ECE Director in collaboration with the appropriate committee chairs.
Hamakom Meditation Garden and Simcha Path Honoring Rabbi Judy Shanks: Donors to Hamakom honor Rabbi Emerita Judy Shanks and lend their support to our Community Fund. Donors engrave bricks on the Simcha path as beautiful, fun, and permanent ways to celebrate their families’ and our community’s celebrations.
High Holy Day Tzedakah Appeal: Donors who contribute to the High Holy Day Tzedakah Appeal help to support our Community Fund.
Israel and World Jewry: Donors who contribute to the Israel and World Jewry Fund support the work of the Temple Isaiah Israel and World Jewry committee by providing funds for their programs and other worthy causes the committee decides upon in consultation with the Temple Isaiah clergy.
Ivy Blum Memorial Fund: This fund was established by her loving family and friends in memory of Ivy Blum, Past President of our Temple Sisterhood (Women of Isaiah). Donors who contribute to the Ivy Blum Memorial Fund support efforts to provide financial assistance to the primary caregivers of minor children who are unable to work due to their childcare responsibilities due to marital status or health conditions. The fund is administered by the Temple Isaiah rabbis.
Jacob M. Tarkoff Gan Ilan Scholarship Fund: The Jacob Michael Tarkoff Gan Ilan Scholarship Fund is a permanent endowment to remember Jacob’s blessing. The interest earned and additional gifts towards Gan Ilan Scholarships will be available on a needs basis at the discretion of the Gan Ilan Directors and the clergy of Temple Isaiah.
Memorial Plaque Fund: Donors who contribute $500 per plaque in memory of a loved one help provide for all programs and services for Temple members and the community.
Mimi Epstein Memorial Endowment Fund
Donors who contribute to the Mimi Epstein Memorial Endowment Fund provide funds for cultural programs.
Morris and Bobbie Collen Memorial Endowment Fund
Donors who contribute to the Morris and Bobbie Collen Memorial Endowment Fund provide funds for the Collen Lecture Series on healthy and creative living, caring for the body, mind, and spirit.
Project Hearth Fund: Donors who contribute to the Project Hearth Fund provide the funds used by Temple Isaiah’s Project Hearth committee to assist SHELTER, INC in caring for the homeless of the area with food, housing, clothing or in other ways to improve their lives.
P’tach Libeynu Fund: Donors who contribute to the P’tach Libeynu (Open our Hearts) Fund support the mental health and wellness program sponsored by Temple Isaiah in partnership with all Contra Costa synagogues and the Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay. It is designed to decrease the stigma of mental illness by welcoming those affected by mental illness, and their family members and friends, to social and educational programs, and facilitated support groups.
Rabbi Perlman’s Discretionary Fund: Donors who contribute to Rabbi Jill Perlman’s Discretionary Fund provide Rabbi Perlman with the funds to use, solely at her discretion, to assist individual, educational and community needs that are consistent with Temple Isaiah’s charitable and tax-exempt purposes. The fund makes it possible to provide such assistance in a confidential manner. Helping congregants with financial needs, including scholarships for Temple Isaiah programs or supporting special programs, are examples of such expenditures.
Rabbi Torop’s Discretionary Fund: Donors who contribute to Rabbi Aaron Torop’s Discretionary Fund provide Rabbi Torop with the funds to use, solely at his discretion, to assist individual, educational and community needs that are consistent with Temple Isaiah’s charitable and tax-exempt purposes. The fund makes it possible to provide such assistance in a confidential manner. Helping congregants with financial needs, including scholarships for Temple Isaiah programs or supporting special programs, are examples of such expenditures.
Rabbi Miller’s Discretionary Fund: Donors who contribute to Rabbi Alissa Miller’s Discretionary Fund provide Rabbi Miller with the funds to use, solely at her discretion, to assist individual, educational and community needs that are consistent with Temple Isaiah’s charitable and tax-exempt purposes. The fund makes it possible to provide such assistance in a confidential manner. Helping congregants with financial needs, including scholarships for Temple Isaiah programs or supporting special programs, are examples of such expenditures.
Rabbi Greninger’s Discretionary Fund: Donors who contribute to Rabbi Nicki Greninger’s Discretionary Fund provide Rabbi Greninger with the funds to use, solely at her discretion, to assist individual, educational and community needs that are consistent with Temple Isaiah’s charitable and tax-exempt purposes. The fund makes it possible to provide such assistance in a confidential manner. Helping congregants with financial needs, including scholarships for Temple Isaiah programs or supporting special programs, are examples of such expenditures.
Education & Youth Fund: Donors who contribute to the Education & Youth Fund support the purchase of non-budgeted items, subsidize programs and aid students at the discretion of Rabbi Greninger and Rabbi Miller in collaboration with the appropriate committee chairs.

Torah and Prayer Book Fund: Donors who contribute to the Torah and Prayer Book Fund make it possible to purchase new chumashim (torahs) and prayer books for Temple Isaiah.
Tzedakah Box Fund: Donors who put contributions in the sanctuary foyer tzedakah box make it possible for the Values in Action Committee to donate to worthy causes.
Values in Action Fund: Donors who contribute to the Values in Action Fund support Temple Isaiah’s social action and social justice efforts.
Waldenberg/Zwerling Youth Leadership Fund: This fund was established in memory of Eric Zwerling and in honor of Rabbi Emeritus Shelley Waldenberg upon his retirement and in memory of Rabbi Solomon and Shulamit Waldenberg. Donors who contribute to the Waldenberg/Zwerling Youth Leadership Fund enable our Rabbis to underwrite expenses connected with developing leadership skills and experiences for Temple Isaiah’s young adults.
Women of Isaiah: Donors who contribute to the Women of Isaiah Fund provide the funds that are distributed to worthy causes by Women of Isaiah in consultation with the Temple Isaiah clergy.
